Allow me to introduce myself, I am Carter James.
Hailing from Augusta, Georgia, I grow up always knew that there was different about me. I never followed the crowd or stuck to the norms in life. I created my own beat and marched forward. Out of that, Carter James the rising wardrobe stylist/creative director in Atlanta, Georgia was born. Sticking to my indie driven aspect on life, I go with the flow; which reflect in my work. I tend to blend classic/timeless pieces with the hipster/indie crave currently happening in fashion. My journey actually started by being a photographer. I started shooting in high school, as the yearbook photographer. That’s when I found my creative focus. Then I started producing fashion shows at CAU/Morehouse under Project X and shows over at GSU under Infinite Appeal. From working with models and producing shoots, I stepped into the wardrobe stylist realm. I have styled some of Atlanta’s celebrities such as Cynthia Bailey of Real Housewives of Atlanta, Traci Steele and Karlie Redd of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, Tiffany Evans and Meelah formerly of 702. You can check out my work at www.carterjames.net.
That has brought me over the Urban Socialites team as the Atlanta Style Editor. I plan to bring fashion to the forefront and showcase some rising talents in the wonderful city. I will expose some interesting designers, model, hairstylist, make-up artist, photographers and artist on the web and magazine coming soon. Get ready because I’m here to stay.
